Grasshopper work getting airborne: report from Inner Mongolia

Posted from Arianne (by Jim):

Things are going well here. Today, we finished setting up the 100 or so cages, much hard work, but we (the grasshopper team) have a lot of fun working together. Tomorrow, we will assess a few populations of O. asiaticus to determine if many have hatched. In the evenings, I am working on setting up all of my equipment and finishing grant/other writing projects. Another note, is it’s quite cold this time of year, but should be pretty warm by the time all of you get here. I was finally able to take my long underwear off yesterday, but still fill my water bottles with hot water to sleep with. Yes, I have grown soft living in AZ — the winters here have got to be harsh!
