PLoS ONE: Successional Change in Phosphorus Stoichiometry Explains the Inverse Relationship between Herbivory and Lupin Density on Mount St. Helens.

Posted by Jim:  John Bishop is a long-time collaborator of our long-time collaborator Bill Fagan.  Anyway, this looks like a nice paper showing some pretty strong effects of plant N:P ratio on insect success.  It’s interesting to note that these are N-fixing lupines, which are known to generally have high N:P ratios for obvious reason.s
