Recently I was interviewed about the peak phosphorus issue by this interesting magazine. The piece is now out and brings together several perspectives on the emerging P sustainability issue that we have started to pursue with our “Sustainable P Initiative” and the SOLS Frontiers in Life Sciences (FILS) conference (“Phosphorus, Food, and Our Future”) that Jess, Michelle, and Ari are co-organizing.
As Douglas Adams wrote (in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe I think):
The fabulously beautiful planet Bethselamin is now so worried about the cumulative erosion by ten billion visiting tourists a year that any net imbalance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete whilst on the planet is surgically removed from your bodyweight when you leave: so every time you go to the lavatory it is vitally important to get a receipt.
